Fundraiser - What's New?
Fundraiser Version 7.4 will be released on 9th October 2007. This version will include the new PostcodeFinder that utilises the new postcode information as supplied by NZ Post. We have been working very hard over the past few months getting things ready for the new NZ Post postcode system going live 1st July 2008.
The PostcodeFinder has cost us a considerable amount in terms of resource and actual cost because NZ Post now charges for the use of the post code data. We have to pay a subscription and continually update the data as changes occur to this file every quarter. We will be recouping this cost by way of an increase in the Annual Support Fee of approx $300 per year. The PostcodeFinder and updates to the software are only available to those who have an annual support agreement with us. If you currently do not have such a support agreement with us, please contact us to sign up.
Other significant changes made to this release include: Volunteer module enhancements, a personnel training manager, invoicing enhancements, a vehicle manager, and a police vetting module. We have also enhanced the speed of the system and improved a number of the reports.
We have had to redesign the way that the Fundraiser Suite manages and stores contact addresses in the database. We have designed it so that when you enter a new address you will be able to "Validate" it. This validation will connect to the new Post Code PAF database and it will try to find an exact match for the address you enter.
This validation process will provide you the confidence that your address is 100% accurate and will meet the highest level of accuracy you need to get your bulk mailing discounts. Your data, if not cleaned already, will need to be processed in bulk in order to get it validated and reformatted based on the new rules and regulations as defined by NZ Post. This "Batch" clean will be done with our data partner Acxiom® via a very user friendly method we have designed in conjunction with Acxiom.
It has been necessary to partner with them because they are SendRight ™ certified by NZ Post and also because they have built an extremely powerful address cleaning system that we believe is the best available. All those addresses that cannot be cleaned automatically will be reported to you so you can fix manually. Acxiom have been very generous and have offered an extremely good price to all our Non Profit customers. We believe that you will not get a deal or a service anywhere as good as what we have put together for you. Infosoft has invested heavily in the last few months on internal servers and infrastructure. Our network has been redesigned using Firewall's and switches from CISCO and new dual xenon IBM rack servers. This new infrastructure will ensure the best possible environment for all hosted services including email, web and application hosting.
Newsroom
Newsroom has become more popular now that the new anti spam legislation has come into effect. We have recently added a new improved online editor that allows newsletters to be modified with ease. A new SMS messaging feature will be available next year allowing you to send information to mobile phones.
New Website
We are in the process of updating our websites. They have been somewhat neglected and have become badly out of date! Keep an eye open for the new sites coming soon.
Staff Update
Alastair is our newest staff member to join our development team. He has now been with us for six months and he has added enormous value to the business. He has proven to be excellent at finding new and innovative ways to improve both our internal systems and our products.
