Infosoft Development Newsletter - Issue 14

Hello!
Another few months have passed since the last newsletter and it seems like Christmas is on the way again... already! I know many of you are gearing up for the big Xmas appeals, so all the best with those.

Things at Infosoft have been very good. Sales have been strong despite the uncertain economy. In particular our international sales are starting to bloom as we have had some new business in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as Singapore. The Singapore business has led us to ensure that Fundraiser is now Multi Language capable. See more below about that news.

Fundraiser - What's New?

Fundraiser has had some new features added recently:

  • An Invoice Transaction Report has been added. With this we have added an Invoices Paid and an Invoices Due report.
  • You can now get transaction reports for a given Contact, Contact Group, or Communication Group. These can be extracted for a given date period. This report does not include Transactions of type Invoice or Payment.
  • Communication groups now show the date they were added to the Contact and which user added them to that group.
  • The Event Evaluation Report now includes Contact Acquisition information, showing how many new contacts were acquired by that event and how much was given.
  • The Quick View has been modified to include Schedule Payment details to enable more efficient transaction entry.
  • The Telemarketing system has had further enhancements made to the "Call Centre", making it better and easier to use.
  • A new Search Companion has been added, replacing the existing one. The new search function allows a dual search and you can also search for "smith a" and you will get all the Smiths and those only where the First name starts in "A" (its not case sensitive). The search companion is much faster and provides easier and more accurate searching.
  • Flo2Cash Integration. We have integrated Fundraiser with a real time electronic payment interface. See article below for more info.
Flo2Cash Integration
Infosoft has integrated its product line with the Flo2Cash product. This will allow you to authorise Credit Card payments on the spot from the Transaction screen within Fundraiser.

There are many reasons why using this service makes excellent sense and it should be seriously considered by any organisation that accepts Credit Card payments. Primarily these fall into two areas. The first is about security - holding Credit Card information in a database poses a security risk that has become too great a risk for many banking institutions.

The other main reason is that the administrative cost of processing payments made via a credit card can be extremely high.

Infosoft will be making further announcements soon to let you know how to register your interest in this service and what costs etc are likely to be.

Postcode Regionalisation
The new postcodes have been developed to increase mail processing efficiency. The NZ network has been upgraded to incorporate ten automated mail processing ‘lines’ at six major mail processing sites around the entire country. Each line (numbered 0-9) will process mail for a specific geographic area.

The automated mail processing line represents the first digit of the postcode – it runs north to south in ascending order. To see this information in more detail please Click Here..

The second and third digits reflect postal sort areas and our delivery network i.e. urban posties, New Zealand Post Box/Bag network and RuralPost. The fourth digit of the postcode is used to identify the urban area, RD number or box lobby. In rural delivery areas where possible this digit is the same as the existing RD number.

Multi language input and data
Fundraising via charities in Asia is very much a growing business and Infosoft have made the Fundraiser Suite Compatible with SE Asian languages - hence the main image for this Newsletter. The main image in this newsletter is the Chinese character for "Friendship".

We hope to foster much more business in this region of the world as a result of this update. Watch this space!
