Welcome to the winter newsletter for 2009. Hopefully this year’s doom and gloom economy has not impacted too greatly on your income. In general, we are seeing a slow down in most businesses, but some continue to find ways and means of not only generating more income but also finding ways to cut costs. We have seen a high level of interest in our modules that increase office efficiency and thus reduce costs. We have placed some customer feedback at the bottom of this newsletter in regards to one of these modules, the Barcoding system.

Also, if you are not already aware, Infosoft hosts applications (including Fundraiser), web sites, ecommerce facilities and web services to different software solutions.

We have recently updated and improved the Online Charge Module, now offering an online donations page that feeds directly into Fundraiser - see below for more information regarding this.

We are also working hard building the next generation solution that will one day replace the Fundraiser Suite as we know it now. This new system will be fully hosted, or "software as a service" as it is sometimes known. Most software vendors are now moving into this space and we plan to deliver a product that will be second to none. More about this later in the year.

Internet Donations
The Fundraiser Online Charge Module (OCM) now includes, at no extra cost, an online donations page that fully integrates with the database. When someone makes a donation, the transaction is completed immediately, (through the best possible security), and the contact information and transaction are passed to Fundraiser ready for processing and confirmation. The donor is able to define what they would like the donation to be used for. 

Fundraiser automatically identifies the donor based on their email address, or failing that, uses the other key contact data to locate a match. Online donations couldn’t be easier! Please contact us for more information.


SMS - Texting Technology 
There is no doubt that mobile technology is being more widely used these days. There are more mobile phones then people in New Zealand and as generations start shifting, you will find that the very young and the very old will all be using mobile devices as well. 

Infosoft has been interested in SMS since its early days and in 2003 our first SMS free service was created. It wasn’t long before we had built a prototype application that allowed anyone to send SMS messages to any GSM mobile device around the world. Soon after this, it was integrated into the Fundraiser software but when demand and load started increasing, the costs became prohibitive so we shelved the project.

This year, after successfully launching the popular Online Charge Module, we decided it was time to revisit the SMSEngine. Six years after the original prototype was built, the SMSEngine was redesigned with a high performance dispatching and processing service. A messaging interpreter system now allows messaging responses to be redirected to perform certain tasks. One scenario that may work well for you is allowing you to send an SMS message reminding your members that their membership is about to expire. All they need to do is respond ‘yes’, and the transaction is completed.

We are planning to release SMS messaging as an add-in to Fundraiser Suite soon, but the full billing functionality (and much more) will be released in our next generation tool which we will talk more about in the near future.

New Module - Conference Manager
The Fundraiser Suite’s Event Manager Module has had a significant enhancement of late. The software can now handle conference registrations, allowing you to define who the purchaser is, who the delegation leader is, the names and details of the delegates and be able to manage and process the tickets and registration packs that are required.

Telemarketing Solution
The Infosoft Telemarketing module now incorporates all the features of a full blown Telemarketing solution. The system works even better than a Telemarketing solution, offering a solution that can not only manage cold calling lists, but can also incorporate data purchase into an existing dataset, either warm, cold or both. The system also allows full on-the-spot transaction management, allowing instant credit card donations and stock purchases ready for dispatch.

The Telemarketers do not need to dial any numbers, the software does this for them, designed to increase time on the phone and not waste precious minutes dialing numbers manually.

Please be aware that one or two of our customers run full time Telemarketing teams and may make these facilities available to other non profits looking for some Telemarketing help. If this might be of interest to you, please contact Angus or Paul for more information.

Barcoding Module Feedback
We have taken up the facility of putting barcodes onto our donation forms which we send out with our newsletters. We have designed a personalised donation form which we place a barcode on, so when the form gets returned with the donation we only have to scan the barcode and it brings up all the details we need."

"This is a great time saver as we don’t have to try to locate the person, it cuts down on the duplicates and the only thing we have to enter now is the amount and add a receipt, if the bank details are different to the last cheque we received we just change that. The scanning facility is worthwhile as it cuts down the amount of keying involved.
